The Show N Shine is the highlight for any car show and 2023 at Volks Weald did not disappoint with an amazing selection of vehicles on display. With it being the 70th anniversary of the Oval we had a fantastic turnout of these very special cars in addition to plenty of amazing air cooled VW’s, water cooled VW’s, Hot Rods, Yanks & Vespa’s. It’s FREE to enter, just shine them up, park them up and show them off!
Live Music
Volks Weald has quickly built a reputation of always having a great line of entertaining bands and musicians, many of them local and 2024 will be no different.
We are delighted to announce that the amazing The Mixtape Collective will be our headline band on the Saturday evening. The Mixtape Collective are an 11 piece band, including a brass section, performing tracks from and around The Guardians Of The Galaxy films. Get ready for an eclectic mix of tracks from many top bands including The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, Florence & The Machine plus many more – something for everyone and it promises to be an evening to remember.
As well as appreciating cool cars, here at Volks Weald we also really appreciate great music and we are over the moon to announce that ‘Rudy Warman And The Heavy Weather’ are all booked in to play at the show this year. If you haven’t seen these guys perform before, you are in for a treat. They are top draw!
We are pleased to announce, singer & songwriter CJ will be returning this year entertaining us with her beautiful voice as well as running children’s musical workshops over the weekend. Great to have you on board again CJ.
Couldn’t not have these guys play with a band name like this! We welcome Clea & The Dubs to Volks Weald ’24. The indie/soul trio play both original songs and covers from the likes of Amy Winehouse and Al Green. They sound superb and you are in for treat.
After the amazing response we had to Freak Flag last year, we had no hesitation in booking them again for that key Sunday afternoon slot, pre show n shine results. If you missed them last year, they are a guitar, bass and drums power trio authentically reproducing the music of Jimi Hendrix and music of his era. It’s going to be a blast!
Saturday afternoon is going to be rocking in the Big Top this year as we welcome Valkyrie Fire. The all girl group play the epic sounds of the 80’s hair metal, it’s going to be awesome. Put your hands in the air Volks Weald!

Bug Beats
When you think of Volks Weald, what do you think of? Great cars, stunning venue, amazing historic house, great bands, yes all of these and of course, Bug Beats! We are pleased to announce that Neil will be with us all weekend keeping you entertained. He will be doing a full Friday night set to start your weekend off with a bang and the Kids disco on Saturday which is always popular as well as playing top tunes across the whole weekend.
Trade Village
The trade village this year was amazing (so say our visitors) with over 50 trade stalls selling all sorts of goods from VW parts to skateboards. It had a real artisan feel about it and 2024 is shaping up to be even bigger & better with many traders already booked in after their successful trading in 2023. So if you’re a visitor, start saving up your pennies and if you’re a trader looking to book in for the Greatest Show On Turf, head on over to our contacts page and get booked in to avoid missing out on a pitch.
Penshurst Place
Dog Show
We always get a huge turn out of dogs at Volks Weald and we know you all love to show your furry friends off. Over the weekend there will be a Fun Dog Show. There will be fun classes and to enter we just ask for a small donation for each entry with all money raised being donated to an animal charity. We look forward to seeing your four legged friends there!
Adventure Playground
All visitors to the show over the weekend will be able to take their little ones and slightly bigger ones, FREE OF CHARGE, in to the amazing Penshurst Place Adventure Playground.
